If Typhoon Signal No. 1 or No. 3 is hoisted

  • All classes and examinations will continue as scheduled. All offices will remain open.

If the Pre-No. 8 Typhoon Signal Warning / Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above / Extreme Condition announcement is issued

Campus and Offices Arrangements

At or before 7:00 a.m.

  • All classes/examinations will be cancelled.
  • Campus and Offices will remain closed.

During Campus/Office opening hours

  • Classes should be cancelled immediately, and students should leave as soon as practicable.
  • Examinations in progress should continue except for situations which endanger students and warrant immediate termination of the examinations as determined by the Vice-President.
  • Offices will close immediately. Campus remains open until Typhoon Signal No 8 or above is issued.

If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is lowered/Extreme Condition is cancelled

  • All classes and examinations commencing from 9:00 am onward will be held as scheduled.
  • Campus and Offices will open as normal.

7:01 a.m. - 12:00 noon

  • All classes and examinations commencing from 2:00 pm onward will be held as scheduled.
  • Campus and Offices will open 2 hours after the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is lowered / Extreme Condition is cancelled.

12:01 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • All classes and examinations commencing from 6:00 pm onward will be held as scheduled.
  • Campus and Offices will open 2 hours after the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is lowered / Extreme Condition is cancelled.

2:01 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • All classes and examinations commencing from 6:00 pm onward will be held as scheduled.
  • Campus will open 2 hours after the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is lowered / Extreme Condition is cancelled.
  • Offices will remain closed.
  • Staff members with emergency / evening duties are required to report duties within 2 hours after the Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is lowered/Extreme Condition is cancelled.

On or after 4:01 p.m.

  • All classes and examinations will be cancelled.
  • Campus and Offices will remain closed.

Announcements made by the Education Bureau relating to the suspension of classes for schools only apply to secondary school students studying in the Applied Learning (ApL) courses offered by UOWCHK.

If Amber or Red Rainstorm Warning is issued

  • All classes and examinations will continue as normal. All offices will remain open.

If Black Rainstorm Warning is issued

  • Campus and Offices will remain closed

During Campus/Office opening hours

  • All classes/examinations will be cancelled.

  • Students should stay in the Campus until the black rainstorm warning has been cancelled and traffic conditions have improved.
  • Campus and Offices will remain open until the black rainstorm warning has been cancelled and traffic conditions have improved.

If Black Rainstorm Warning is cancelled
