General information

UOW College Hong Kong, formerly Community College of City University (“CCCU”), is registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap 320) in Hong Kong.  We are part of the University of Wollongong (UOW) global network in Dubai, Malaysia and Australia with about 2,000 students.  We offer a wide range of Degree, Top-up Degree, Associate Degree(AD) and Higher Diploma(HD) programmes, and a Diploma in General Studies (DipGS).  All academic programmes of the College are locally accredited, quality-assured, and recognized under the Qualifications Framework.  

With about 200 well-qualified and dedicated staff, we are highly regarded for our committed teaching focus, rigor in quality assurance and emphasis on the whole-person development of students.  The College’s current main campus in Kowloon City is easily accessible from a nearby MTR station and other public transport.  Another campus in Tai Wai will be ready for operation in 2024.  For more details about the College, please visit https://www.uowchk.edu.hk.

Part-time Lecturer in Design Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities [Ref.2022/ACAD007] 

Faculty of Arts and Humanities

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities currently offers four associate degree programmes and two Cap320 Bachelor degree programmes. The programme areas cover Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, cultural studies, design, media and communication. With the knowledge and skills acquired from their respective disciplines, our graduates are all well-prepared for further study and employment. 

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities has about 20 well-qualified full-time academic staff. We are a multinational, multicultural community - our teachers currently come from Hong Kong, Mainland China, UK, USA, Japan, Korea, Spain, France and Canada. 

In addition to its own programmes, the Faculty also offers:

  1. internationally recognized language assessment tests (PSC, for Putonghua; DELE, for Spanish; KLAT, for Korean; and TCF, for French);
  2. College-wide English language requirement courses;
  3. Summer English enhancement activities such as Summer Splash and the Grammar Drama Camp;
  4. IELTS preparatory courses. 

Duties 

Appointees are expected to undertake teaching (including project supervision) in the areas of Design. Appointees are expected to manage course administration duties and materials development in the relevant subject areas. Appointees are also expected to develop materials, attend briefings and other course-related meetings as required.

Requirements

Applicants should possess the following requirements: 

  • Master’s degree/PhD in Design Studies;
  • Have a good teaching evaluation; and
  • A minimum of 3 years related teaching experience or involved in design industry.
