General information

UOW College Hong Kong, formerly Community College of City University (“CCCU”), is registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap 320) in Hong Kong.  We are part of the University of Wollongong (UOW) global network in Dubai, Malaysia and Australia with about 2,000 students.  We offer a wide range of Degree, Top-up Degree, Associate Degree(AD) and Higher Diploma(HD) programmes, and a Diploma in General Studies (DipGS).  All academic programmes of the College are locally accredited, quality-assured, and recognized under the Qualifications Framework.  

With about 200 well-qualified and dedicated staff, we are highly regarded for our committed teaching focus, rigor in quality assurance and emphasis on the whole-person development of students.  The College’s current main campus in Kowloon City is easily accessible from a nearby MTR station and other public transport.  Another campus in Tai Wai will be ready for operation in 2024.  For more details about the College, please visit https://www.uowchk.edu.hk.

Assistant Professors/Lecturers, Faculty of Science and Technology [Ref.2023/ACAD002]

Faculty of Science and Technology

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) offers six associate degree programmes, three higher diploma programmes and three Cap320 Bachelor degree programme. The programme areas cover aviation and aviation logistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, information technology, data science, environmental science, STEM and creative media. These programmes are delivered by a dynamic and growing team of faculty members and Professors of Practice. Supported by up-to-date facilities such as state-of-the-art computer laboratories, network and multimedia laboratories and flight simulation facilities, the Faculty aims to develop future – ready graduates to meet the ever-changing science and technology working environment.

Duties

Appointees will be responsible for (a) teaching courses in the area of either Design/Creative Media or Electronic Engineering and Computer Networks or Artificial Intelligence and Smart Technology; (b) programme administration and course development; (c) assisting in the development of programmes at different levels; (d) taking up administrative works at the College level; and (e) developing and coordinating extra-curricular activities for students.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. A Master’s degree or PhD in Design/ Creative Media/ Electronic or Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ or other related disciplines;
  2. A minimum of 1 year teaching experience in tertiary education and relevant industry experience in electronic subjects;
  3. Applicants without a doctoral degree or with less work experience will be considered for the post of Lecturer.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will normally be made on fixed-term contract for one year. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental schemes.

Assistant Professor/Lecturer, Faculty of Social Sciences [Ref.2023/ACAD001]

Duties
Appointees are expected to undertake teaching (including project supervision), programme administration and course development duties, as appropriate, in the relevant subject areas. They are also required to develop and coordinate extra-curricular activities for students. Appointees on professorial terms are expected to undertake research in the relevant subject areas.

Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. a PhD or doctoral degree in Social Work or a related discipline. Applicants with a PhD or doctoral degree in related discipline must have a bachelor’s degree in social work;
  2. not less than five years’ post-degree full-time equivalent experience in social work practice after obtaining a qualifying degree in social work; and
  3. a Registered Social Worker of Social Worker Registration Board or equivalent.
