As the new academic year approaches, are you ready to return to campus life? To help students understand mental health and establish a routine campus life, the Student Centre is offering a two-day certificate course in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) on 2 and 3 September 2025, before the semester begins.

Students who attend 100% of the course (14 hours) will receive:

  • A “Youth Mental Health First Aid” Course Certificate issued by the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong
  • A set of “Youth Mental Health First Aid” Manuals

The Department of Health is currently providing FREE HPV vaccination for female Hong Kong residents born between 2004 and 2008 and will arrange an outreach team to provide catch-up vaccination services for eligible female students on campus in October 2025.
衞生署現正為2004年至2008年出生的香港女性居民免費接種子宮頸癌疫苗,並將於本年度十月安排外展隊於校內為合資格女學生提供補種服務。

What is HPV Vaccine疫苗?
HPV vaccine is a prophylactic vaccine to prevent cervical cancer as well as other HPV-related cancers or diseases.
HPV 疫苗(簡稱 HPV 疫苗,又稱子宮頸癌疫苗)是一種預防性疫苗,能預防子宮頸癌及其他因感染 HPV 而引致的癌症和疾病。

Dosage Information:
Each of the eligible students can receive two doses of vaccination, while immunocompromised persons have to receive three doses of vaccination (all three doses are free of charge).
每名合資格學生可接種兩劑疫苗,而免疫力弱的人士則需接種三劑(三劑均為免費)。

The Student Counselling Services and Personal Development Centre (“Student Centre”) would like to invite you to join the “Self-exploration Series: Sports Climbing Level One Certificate Course (S1371)” to be commenced in late March 2025, through which you will be engaged in a journey of self-discovery and challenge while learning the basic knowledge and skills in sports climbing. The Dart Club is currently recruiting new members. We have two dart machines set up in the music room on the third floor. The club has regular opening hours in this semester, during which club officials will be present to allow members to experience the fun of dart games!

Dart sports are a positive and healthy activity. Although the physical demands are relatively low, there are various health benefits, including improved concentration and hand-eye coordination. Dart sports can be competitive or recreational, making them suitable for participants of all ages. This sport has become globally popular, with many professional leagues and international competitions. The Darts Federation of Hong Kong, China was established in 2018 and has organized various activities and competitions since then.

Club officials have previously represented the UOWCHK in public competitions, achieving awards and bringing honour to the school. We hope interested students will join the club and enjoy the experience!

飛鏢學會現在招募會員,現時有2台飛鏢機設於3樓音樂室,學會在今個學期設有定期開放時間,將有學會幹事當值,讓會員可以一嘗飛鏢運動的樂趣!

飛鏢運動是一項正面健康的運動,雖然它的體能需求相對較低,但也有多種健康益處,包括提高專注力及手眼協調等,飛鏢運動可以是競技性質的也可以是休閒娛樂,適合各年齡層的參與者。飛鏢運動已經成為全球流行的競技運動,已組成許多專業聯盟和國際賽事,中國香港飛鏢聯合總會於2018年成立,並多次舉辦不同活動和比賽。

學會幹事曾於公開比賽中,代表香港伍倫貢學院取得獎項,為校爭光,希望有興趣的同學參與學會,享受其中!

Darts sport is a positive and healthy activity. Although the physical demands are relatively low, there are various health benefits, including improved concentration and hand-eye coordination. Darts sport can be competitive or recreational, making them suitable for participants of all ages. This sport has become globally popular, with many professional leagues and international competitions. The Darts Federation of Hong Kong, China was established in 2018 and has organized various activities and competitions since then.

Committee members of the Darts Club have previously represented the UOWCHK in public competitions, achieving awards and bringing honour to the College. We hope interested students will join the club and enjoy the experience!

The Darts Club is currently recruiting new members. Two darts machines have been set up in the Music Room on the third floor. The Club has regular opening hours, during which club officials will be present to allow members to experience the fun of darts games!

After becoming members of the Club, you will have the chance to learn and attempt the sports under the guidance of the committee members of the Club every Friday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, 3rd Floor Music Room.

How to form a new student club?
Complete and submit the student club registration form and the consent form of student club advisor to The Student Centre. Each club is required to be supervised by at least one student club internal advisor whom should be a UOWCHK staff member. If you have difficulties in looking for an appropriate club advisor, you are welcome to contact us.

To cheer you up, we will be hosting a counter on the first floor (1/F) on 17 September (next Tuesday) to give out free coffee or drinks. We have prepared some colourful little cards for you to write and share your well-wishes as encouragement for yourself, your friends and fellow classmates! Come and share your blessings to get a drink and take a moment to relax! We have also prepared some lantern riddles for you to guess and solve. Prizes will be given to the winners. All students and staff are welcome to join.

To encourage tertiary students to engage in the promotion of integrity, the ICAC has launched an Ambassador Programme in collaboration with the tertiary institutions to mobilise students to organise on-campus integrity activities.

In the programme, a team of around 8 ambassadors will be recruited. The ambassadors will work as a team and be responsible for organising College’s integrity promotion events throughout Semester B of the academic year. They are required to participate in an input session and a training day camp to be held in early November 2024 respectively to get ready as capable ambassadors. To help support the running cost of the programme, ICAC will provide a maximum of HKD5,000 to the team.

Upon completing the programme, ambassadors will gain job shadowing opportunities in the ICAC. The ambassadors may also have an opportunity to participate in training activities of ICAC Operations Department.

Application method:
Complete the enrolment form. Suitable candidates will be invited for an interview on 15 or 18 October 2024*.
*Students who cannot attend the interview on 15 or 18 October 2024 should inform the Student Centre in advance. Special arrangements may be made upon request.

The "Peer Counselling Programme" is a 1-year programme aiming to train a group of students as peer counsellors (PCs). PCs will provide support and guidance to their peers. The programme includes comprehensive training in basic counselling theories, counselling skills, self-understanding, and effective listening and communication techniques. Upon completion, PCs will be equipped to empower their peers, promote positivity, and foster inclusivity and diversity within the student community.

Quota
The programme recruits 30 peer counsellors each year.
Core Training for PC

  • Enhancing Self-understanding and Self-confidence Workshop
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (Total 14 hours) *
  • Peer Help and Counselling Skills Training
  • Peer Counselling Skills Training I
  • Peer Counselling Skills Training II

*Full attendance is required for certificate issuance.

Selection Criteria
We are recruiting students who are:

  • Current UOWCHK students
  • Proactive and eager to help others
  • Responsible, committed, and interested in personal growth

Qualifications
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will receive:

  • UOWCHK Peer Counselling Certificate of Achievement
  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate (jointly issued by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and acknowledged by the Mental Health First Aid International)
