Entrance Scholarships

1. UOWCHK Entrance Scholarships 2026/27 (For current 2026 HKDSE candidates)

The UOWCHK Entrance Scholarships aim to award newly admitted full-time students who have attained satisfactory results in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) in 2026.

Current 2026 HKDSE candidates who have fulfilled the following requirements will be awarded the entrance scholarships and no prior application is required.

  1. The value of each award shall be HK$10,000. The scholarships will be disbursed to awardees in two equal instalments (HK$5,000 per instalment), upon satisfactory completion of at least 5 courses in Semester A 2026/27 and Semester A 2027/28.
  1. To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants should:
  • be permanent residents of the HKSAR;
  • be current 2026 HKDSE candidates and have satisfied the minimum entrance requirements for entering into UOWCHK sub-degree or bachelor degree programmes (combined certificates are NOT considered); and
  • be enrolled in full-time UOWCHK sub-degree programmes (associate degree/higher diploma) or bachelor degree programmes.

HKDSE Requirements

  • Sub-degree applicants: having scored 16 points or above in 5 HKDSE subjects, including “Level 2” or above in English Language and Chinese Language#.
  • Degree applicants: having scored 18 points or above in 5 HKDSE subjects; including “Level 3” or above in English Language and Chinese Language##, “Level 2” or above in Mathematics (Compulsory Part) and “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development. 

Note:
# Alternative Chinese qualifications for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) applicants: Applied Learning Chinese (Attained), GCE IAL/IAS Chinese (Grade E), GCSE / IGCSE Chinese: Grade 3 / Grade D.
## Alternative Chinese Qualifications for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) applicants: Applied Learning Chinese (Attained), GCE IAL/IAS Chinese (Grade E), GCSE / IGCSE Chinese: Grade 4 / Grade C.
*Grade Point Conversion: Level 5**=7, Level 5*=6, Level 5=5, Level 4=4, Level 3=3, Level 2/Attained=2, any grades for alterative Chinese qualifications=2 points.
** Combined certificates will not be considered.

2. UOWCHK Entrance Scholarships 2026/27 (For Top-up Degree Programmes) 

Established by UOW College Hong Kong, the UOWCHK Entrance Scholarships for Top-up Degree Programmes recognize newly admitted students who demonstrate outstanding academic records gained prior to admission for meeting the entrance requirements for these programmes.

Students who satisfy the eligibilities and academic requirements below will be automatically considered for the Scholarship. Applications are not required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a selection interview. The selection interview shall normally be conducted in October each year, and the result shall be announced after completion of the selection process.

  1.  The value of each award shall be HK$10,000. One award for each top-up degree programme. The scholarships will be disbursed to awardees upon satisfactory completion of five courses (for full-time programmes) or three courses (for part-time programmes) of the top-up degree programme in Semester A of the academic year.
  1.  To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants should:
  • Hold an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma and be admitted to one of the following top-up degree programmes leading to awards by UOW College Hong Kong:
    • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Japanese Studies (full-time)
    • Bachelor of Aviation (Honours) in Operations and Management (full-time)
    • Bachelor of Maritime Services and Operations Management (Honours)(full-time)
    • Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Social Work (part-time)
  • Be a newly admitted student to the programme of study who ranks among the top students in the relevant programme cohort on the basis of outstanding academic results attained prior to admission for meeting the entrance requirements
