A Year 2 student from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) has won a special scholarship from the Society of Japanese Language Education Hong Kong (SOJLE). Miss CHAN Sze Ching from the Associate of Arts in Bilingual Communication Studies (Japanese & Chinese) (AABCS) programme, was among recipients in the sub-degree category of the 2024–25 Scholarships & Group Project Awards Ceremony on 13 September 2025, which carries an award of HKD 5000.
Established in 1978, the SOJLE facilitates academic and social exchanges between institutions that offer courses and training of the Japanese language. It organizes regular seminars, language proficiency tests, and other activities related to the promotion of Japanese language and studies. Japanese language related programmes at UOWCHK include a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Japanese Studies, and the Associate of Arts in Bilingual Communication Studies (Japanese & Chinese).
