A group of about 20 staff and students from UOW College Hong Kong took advantage of an opportunity to visit the barracks of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Hong Kong along with their family members on 22 June 2025. The barracks were opened to the public for three days on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the reunification of Hong Kong with Mainland China. Among the activities experienced by the group were a flag-raising ceremony, military drill, fight demonstration, military music performance, weapons exhibits and a taste of military rations. The visit enriched the students' and staff's understanding for the efficiency, discipline, and life of the PLA garrison in Hong Kong.
