Mr Vincent Li, Ms Katie Yau and Mr Alvin Yau from the Faculty of Social Sciences represented the College in the " Connecting Hearts with the Motherland" exchange program for social work educators from Hong Kong tertiary institutions, held from May 20 to 22. They were honored to accompany Mr Chris SUN Yuk-han, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. Edward TO, Director of Social Welfare; Mr. Herman HUI, Chairman of the Social Workers Registration Board; and Professor Annie Tam, Dean of Connecting Hearts Academy, along with 50 lecturers and professors from social work departments across Hong Kong tertiary institutions, on an on-site study and exchange visit to Guangzhou. During the three-day itinerary, they visited the Guangdong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, Sun Yat-sen University, South China Agricultural University, and several local social welfare organizations, gaining an immersive understanding of Guangdong's social assistance and public service policies.
