Mr Vincent Li, Ms Katie Yau and Mr Alvin Yau from the Faculty of Social Sciences represented the College in the " Connecting Hearts with the Motherland" exchange programme for social work educators from Hong Kong tertiary institutions, held from May 20 to 22. They were honoured to accompany Mr Chris SUN Yuk-han, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. Edward TO, Director of Social Welfare; Mr. Herman HUI, Chairman of the Social Workers Registration Board; and Professor Annie Tam, Dean of Connecting Hearts Academy, along with 50 lecturers and professors from social work departments across Hong Kong tertiary institutions, on an on-site study and exchange visit to Guangzhou. The three-day itinerary included visits to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, Sun Yat-sen University, South China Agricultural University, and several local social welfare organizations, enabling the gaining of an immersive understanding of Guangdong's social assistance and public service policies.
