A high-level delegation from the state of New South Wales, Australia led by Governor the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC dropped in for a visit to UOW College Hong Kong on 5 December 2025. Her Excellency was accompanied by her husband Mr Dennis Wilson; Mr Michael Miller, Official Secretary to the Governor; Mr Robert Valler, Aide-de-Camp in Waiting; and Mr Edan Nicholas Corkill, Director Priority Markets.
Following an official luncheon, Ms Beazley and her entourage were given a guided tour of the Tai Wai campus of the College. During the visit, they stopped by the library, where Mr. Wilson took a moment to interact and chat with two students, gaining insight into their academic experiences. The delegation also observed students attending classes in several classrooms and were impressed by the state-of-the-art teaching facilities, as well as the specialised aviation and maritime laboratories on campus. They further engaged with a group of students in a classroom, where students from different programmes were participating in a self-reflection exercise using Lego blocks, which highlighted the College’s interactive learning.
In a short meeting with the visitors, Ms Currie Tsang, UOWCHK President, highlighted the college’s role in higher education in Hong Kong, its continued development over the years and the wide range of education programmes that it offers to the community here. She also informed the Governor’s team about the College’s efforts in strengthening its industry links and offering study tour opportunities to enhance student exposure. “It was an honour for us to be able to showcase our facilities and the possibilities for higher education in Hong Kong to Her Excellency, and I hope her visit would help build closer ties with UOW,” said Ms Tsang.
