About 20 staff of UOW College Hong Kong enjoyed a stimulating learning experience at a workshop titled Mastering Copilot & AI Agents on 16 October 2026.
The session, which aimed to move staff from basic AI usage to advanced productivity, began with a demonstration of how to use Copilot to generate interactive PowerPoint slides, including charts, tables, and animation. It was followed by presenting Copilot's Excel features, such as generating formulas from plain-language prompts, analyzing data trends, creating charts and pivot tables, and automatically highlighting key insights.
These were followed by further demonstrations on how to use Copilot for PDF and Word documents, how to upload files and instruct Copilot to merge pages, extract pages, and re-number pages. To this was added instructions on how to deploy agents for the College, focusing on administrative workflows and document security, including permission trimming so agents only access authorized documents and configuring the AI to write in the user's style. The workshop concluded with a final short session on Copilot Skill, explaining how to map common tasks to helper assets such as templates, reference documentation, knowledge repositories, and execution scripts.
Participants were highly engaged, raising practical issues including limitations on uploaded files, file merge problems, tokens granted for UOWCHK, and how to activate Copilot for specific tasks. Attendees left with practical, ready-to-use techniques to apply in their daily work.
