Making good use of AI

Staff of UOW College Hong Kong benefited from a stimulating workshop on AI tools like Kimi, Copilot, and Agent applications on 31 July 2026. The workshop’s 16 enthusiastic participants were eager to explore ways to integrate these tools into their daily academic and administrative workflows. 

In four concise presentations, staff members sampled Kimi K3’s features and usage, followed by a demonstration of Copilot Agent across Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  Further illustrations of Copilot’s integration with Power Automate were followed by a walkthrough of Mulerun. Each session allowed time for questions that culminated in lively discussions.

Participants raised pertinent queries about leveraging Copilot to generate presentation slides efficiently and to develop effective study skills for students.  A recurring concern was the practical challenge of producing comprehensive lecture notes using AI assistance.  Presenters addressed these issues with real‑time examples, offering strategies for prompt engineering, content structuring, and automation to save time without compromising quality.  The positive feedback underscored a strong institutional interest in AI‑enhanced productivity and the harnessing of emerging technologies.
