A group of secondary school students attended the award presentation ceremony for the 3rd Japanese Culture Manga Contest held on 29 June 2026 at UOW College Hong Kong. A total of 45 manga works were submitted, with 15 winning participants invited to the ceremony. Judges from the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Society of Japanese Language Education Hong Kong, the Japan Society of Hong Kong and prefectural offices of Kagoshima, Tochigi and Miyazaki were on hand to present the awards. The manga works submitted received praises from judges who commented that they were very creative and attractive. The contest required students to create a four-frame comic strip based on the provided lines of their choice. For students interested in Japanese studies, UOW College Hong Kong offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Japanese Studies as well as an Associate of Arts in Bilingual Communication Studies (Japanese and Chinese), both of which do not require prior knowledge of Japanese language.
