Families, graduates, and College staff happily gather on 23 November 2024 at the Tai Wai campus of UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) for the 2024 Graduation Ceremony. Altogether there were more than 500 graduates from various academic programmes this year, including undergraduate degrees, UOW top-up degrees, associate degrees, higher diplomas, and the foundation Diploma in General Studies.
The ceremony was conducted with decorum in its morning and afternoon sessions. They began with the national anthems of China and Australia, as Chair of the UOWCHK Board of Governors Mr Nicholas Brooke opened proceedings. Professor Jogn Dewar, Interim Vice-Chancellor and President of UOW, gave a recorded video message. Mr Alistair McEachern, Australian Deputy Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macau was the Occasional Speaker while Ms Marisa Mastroianni, Managing Director and Group CEO for UOW Global Enterprises, made a special appearance to congratulate the graduates. In her Welcoming Address, UOWCHK President Ms Currie Tsang called on the graduates to give back to the community that has nurtured them. “We trust your dynamism as you face the world with courage and integrity,” she told the graduates.
Towards the end of the ceremony, graduate representatives gave a Vote of Thanks. Families and friends of graduates were excited as they took photos at various spots on campus, with many teachers sharing their special moments.
