More than 500 graduates of UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) go into the next stage of their lives as they took part in the 2025 Graduation Ceremony on 29 November 2025. The graduates came from different types of academic programmes, including undergraduate degrees, UOW top-up degrees, associate degrees, higher diplomas, the Diploma in General Studies, and Diploma of Applied Education.
Before the start of the ceremony, the congregation observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect for those who perished or were affected by the horrific fire in Taipo, New Territories a few days ago. Mr Nicholas Brooke, GBS, JP; Chair of the UOWCHK Board of Governors, opened proceedings. Professor Max Lu, AO, Distinguished Professor, UOW Vice-chancellor and President, addressed the audience, followed by UOWCHK President Ms Currie Tsang.
Other senior members of the University of Wollongong attending the ceremony were Mr Michael Still, UOW Chancellor; Professor Joe Chicharo, Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Growth and Global) and President; and Professor Christian Ritz, Dean Global Academic Affairs. Mr Gareth Williams, Australian Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macau was the Occasional Speaker. Families and friends of graduates took advantage of campus decorations as they took photos at various spots.
