A delegation from the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit (CEPU) visited UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) on 8 July 2025. The delegation was led by Mr. Nicholas Kwan, Deputy Head of CEPU, and Dr. Pamela Tin, Research Director.
Reporting to the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the CEPU was established in 2022 to enhance the Government’s capabilities in research and advocacy on long-term and strategic issues and to facilitate internal deliberations to assist the Government in formulating forward-looking policies.
The CEPU delegation was received by Ms. Currie Tsang, UOWCHK President; Dr. Charlie Choi, Vice President; and Ms. Chan Yiu Bing, Secretary for Finance and Operations. The two sides held useful discussions on Hong Kong’s development as an international education hub, challenges faced by tertiary education institutions, and explored greater government support for self-financing institutions, including admission policy for Mainland Chinese students.
The delegation was toured around the campus, which had been designed and landscaped to reflect UOW ethos. The opportunity was taken to demonstrate UOWCHK’s commitment to academic excellence and global engagement, highlighting the College’s relationship with the University of Wollongong (UOW) that enriches students' cultural and international exposure with global connectivity.
