More than 50 students from the Faculty of Business attended a talk given by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) at UOW College Hong Kong, thereby gaining valuable insights into the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) System, retirement protection, and responsibilities relevant to their future careers.
The session on 12 October 2026 introduced the role of the MPFA, including its member protection and customer service functions, and explained the coverage of MPF protection. Students also learned about career opportunities at the MPFA and the latest developments of the eMPF Platform.
Of particular relevance to students in management programmes interested in entrepreneurship, the talk explored the MPF responsibilities of self-employed persons and employers. Practical reminders helped students understand the importance of considering these obligations when establishing and operating a business.
The talk provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with practical aspects of employment, entrepreneurship, and retirement planning. It also strengthened their awareness of the responsibilities they may take on as future employees, self-employed professionals, or business owners.
