16 October 2025 — Four students from the BMSOM programme were invited to join a dinner gathering with maritime professionals, providing them with a valuable opportunity to broaden their industry exposure and build professional networks.
The gathering was arranged by Dr Sik Kwan Tai, Programme Leader of BMSOM, who invited Cora Lam, Terrence Yiu, Kit Lau, and Timothy Lee to meet and exchange with seven experienced professionals from the maritime sector.
During the dinner, students engaged in meaningful conversations with practitioners from different areas of the industry, including terminal operations, shipping operations, shipbroking, and marine pilotage. The informal setting allowed students to gain first-hand insights into career pathways, industry practices, and the professional skills required in the maritime field.
The event served as an excellent platform for students to connect classroom learning with real-world industry experience. It also encouraged students to better understand the diverse opportunities available within the maritime and logistics sectors.
