BMSOM Promotes Maritime Industry through Maritime Week 2025 Activities

16–22 November 2025 — In support of Maritime Week 2025, the BMSOM programme organised two student and public engagement activities to promote awareness of Hong Kong’s maritime industry.

The first activity, “Observing the Operations of the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals from the Peak of Tsing Yi Island,” was held on 16 November 2025. Participants visited a viewing point on Tsing Yi Island to observe the operations of the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals, gaining a better understanding of port activities and the important role of container terminals in global trade and logistics.

The second activity was a legal talk titled “Common Fraudulent Cases on the Use of Bills of Lading,” held on 19 November 2025. The talk was delivered by Dr William Leung, Solicitor of Messrs William Leung & Co., who shared professional insights into common legal issues and fraudulent practices related to bills of lading. The session helped participants understand the practical legal risks faced in maritime and shipping operations.

Through these activities, students and participants were able to connect classroom learning with real-world maritime practices. The events also provided a valuable platform for promoting maritime education, industry awareness, and professional knowledge among students and the wider community.
