Eighteen students from various sub-degree programmes at UOW College Hong Kong took part in an 8-day study tour to Malaysia June 4-11, 2025. Following a welcome lunch, they were matched up with their Malaysian “buddies” for an ice-breaking session. Apart from attending briefings on cultural diversity in the region, the group took part in various interesting activities, including a Batik painting workshop, visits to the colourful Batu Caves, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the National Museum, Central Market, the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers, a cultural excursion to Malacca, the Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum, and the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. Throughout the study tour the students were able to sample delicious typical Malaysian food, and experienced Malaysian culture first-hand as they saw the inter-cultural mix through mosques and temples. All in all, the visit to UOW Malaysia has enabled all to feel they are part of a global organization.
