More than 35 students from UOW College Hong Kong’s (UOWCHK) Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) displayed exemplary teamwork and sportsmanship on the Sports Fun Day organized by the Federation of Self-financing Tertiary Institutions (FSTE) on 28 November 2025 at Southorn Stadium, Wanchai.
UOWCHK came first in the 10-person, 11-leg race, overcoming strong competitors from other self-financed colleges. Other activities where the College team took part included basketball and balloon stomping. The Sports Fun Day was part of the Life-Wide Learning (LWL) initiative aimed at student learning in real contexts and authentic settings to achieve targets that are more difficult to attain through classroom learning. It helps students achieve the aims of whole-person development and enables them to develop the lifelong learning capabilities that are needed in our ever-changing society.
A devoted group of teachers from UOWCHK participated as players or staff helpers, including Dr Irene CHIN, Dr Nicola WAN, Dr Louisa YUEN, Mr Paul YEE, Mr LEE Kim Ming, Ms Wallis Tiu, Ms Mathea FONG, Mr Vincent LAW, Mr CHAN Kwun Cheung and Ms Jennifer LIU.
