Hong Kong – UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) and the Instituto Cervantes, a globally recognized Spanish public institution that promotes the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, have signed a landmark cooperation agreement to bring high-quality Spanish language education to Hong Kong.
The agreement, signed on June 9, 2025, marks a significant step in promoting Spanish language and culture in Hong Kong. This collaboration will provide students with access to internationally accredited courses, teacher training, and cultural resources under the esteemed Instituto Cervantes model. UOWCHK will host Spanish language courses at its Tai Wai campus, offering students the opportunity to learn Spanish through a curriculum aligned with the Instituto Cervantes’ rigorous standards. Courses will include beginner levels, DELE exam preparation, and access to the AVE Global online learning platform.
Key Highlights of the Partnership:
- Comprehensive Curriculum: Courses will follow the Instituto Cervantes’ Curricular Plan, ensuring globally recognized quality and standards.
- Teacher Training: Instituto Cervantes will collaborate with UOWCHK to select and train instructors, guaranteeing excellence in teaching.
- Student Benefits: Enrolled students will receive certificates upon course completion, free access to its AVE and DELE preparation materials, and membership to the Shanghai Cervantes Institute’s electronic library.
- Cultural Exchange: The partnership will also foster cultural engagement, enhancing Hong Kong’s connection to the Spanish-speaking world.
The courses are planned to be launched in the 2025-2026 academic year, with enrolment details to be announced soon.
