15 students from the Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) at UOW College Hong Kong learnt how they could lead a low-carbon life as they went on the Disney Environmental Expedition on 24 January 2026.
Through Disney-themed approaches at Hong Kong Disneyland, the students happily enjoyed an interesting journey to learn how the design of the "Castle of Magical Dreams" conserve water, how power is generated with solar panels in different locations at the park, and how to appreciate the ecosystems and the delicate balance of nature through the "Jungle River Cruise". They also got acquainted with the various species of plants in the theme park and were prompted to reflect on their daily habits and raise their own eco-awareness.
The Disney Environmental Expedition is part of the LWL (Life-wide Learning) activities of the DAE programme, where students are required to take part in ten hours of various activities including career-related learning, physical and aesthetic development, and moral and civic education.
